Over the past 12 months, POS terminal prices have increased far more than many expected.
This wasn’t driven by margins. It was driven by components.
Memory and storage costs rose sharply.
Some 8GB RAM options increased 5–6× compared to last year.
SSD prices followed the same trend.
For all-in-one POS hardware, these costs go straight into the product.
There’s no place to hide them.
Instead of pretending nothing happened, we chose to be transparent and flexible with our customers.
In some projects, separating the setup — using a monitor + external device instead of a fully integrated POS terminal — makes more sense in the short term:
lower hardware cost pressure
stable monitor pricing
projects move forward instead of waiting
Markets will adjust. They always do.
Until then, understanding the why helps everyone make better decisions.
We are a POS hardware manufacturer, working closely with system integrators and distributors.
If you’re facing the same situation, happy to exchange ideas.
